Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha — Tarangire National Park

Drive Time: Approximately 2-3 hours
Distance: ~120 km

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. Journey along the scenic Arusha-Dodoma highway through the picturesque Masai Steppe, passing local villages and farming areas .

Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, you'll embark on a full-day game drive through this spectacular wilderness. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which provides a permanent water source for diverse wildlife, especially during the dry season when animals congregate along its banks .

Your expert guide will help you spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, baboons, and waterbucks. Predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas are also commonly sighted in the park .

Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the scenic beauty of the park, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere and towering baobab trees .

Continue your game drive exploring different sections of the park, giving you more opportunities to observe wildlife and take memorable photographs. The afternoon game drives often reveal different animal behaviors as the heat subsides.

In the late afternoon, exit the park and transfer to your accommodation in the Karatu or Mto wa Mbu area . Check in, enjoy a delicious dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 2: Optional Ngorongoro Crater Extension — Arusha

Drive Time: Approximately 3-4 hours to Arusha

After breakfast, you have the option to extend your safari with a morning game drive in Tarangire before returning to Arusha. Alternatively, if you wish to include Ngorongoro Crater (please contact us for a customized itinerary), you would depart early for the crater and enjoy a full-day game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage Site before returning to Arusha .

For the standard Tarangire-only package, enjoy a final breakfast at your lodge before departing on a morning game drive. This is an excellent time for wildlife viewing when animals are most active .

After your final game drive, begin your scenic journey back to Arusha with your guide. Arrive in the evening and be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of an unforgettable safari experience.
